This Privacy Policy explains how Shride collects, uses, stores, shares, retains, and protects your personal information when you use our ride-hailing, food delivery, grocery delivery, parcel delivery, OrangeMart, OrangePass, wallet, merchant, rider and related services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, business practices, technology, or applicable laws. Any updates will be published on our website and mobile applications, and where required, we will notify you through appropriate channels. By continuing to use the Shride Services after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect, you acknowledge and accept the revised terms.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, password, profile photo, delivery addresses, payment preferences, business information (for merchants), rider verification information, and customer support communications.
We also collect order history, ride history, parcel information, wallet transactions, subscription information, device identifiers, IP address, operating system, browser information, crash logs, approximate and precise location (with permission), analytics data, and information from trusted third parties including payment providers and identity verification providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and manage your account, process rides and deliveries, facilitate payments, operate OrangePass subscriptions, operate OrangeMart, improve our services, prevent fraud, verify identities, provide customer support, communicate service updates, personalize recommendations, comply with legal obligations, and maintain platform security.

3. Legal Basis

Shride processes personal information based on your consent, performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests, and our legitimate business interests.

4. Sharing Information

We may share information with merchants, riders, drivers, payment processors, cloud providers, customer support providers, fraud prevention providers, analytics providers, regulators, law enforcement where legally required, and professional advisers. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

Shride uses cookies, SDKs, pixels and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, improve performance, analyse usage and protect against fraud. You can manage cookie settings through your browser or device.

6. Location Data

With your permission we collect GPS and approximate location to match you with nearby riders or merchants, estimate arrival times, provide navigation, improve routing and prevent fraud. You may disable location services, although some features may not function correctly.

We use encryption in transit, secure authentication, access controls, monitoring, backups, role-based permissions and other reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be

Customer accounts are retained while active. Financial records, orders, rides, wallet transactions and merchant records may be retained for up to seven (7) years or longer where required by law. Support conversations may be retained up to three years. Security logs may be retained up to twenty-four months. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely because it cannot identify an individual.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account through the Shride application or by contacting Customer Support.

After receiving and verifying your deletion request:
- Your account is deactivated.
- Active sessions are terminated.
- Marketing communications stop except where legally required.
- Personal information is scheduled for deletion or anonymization.

Shride may retain limited information where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, chargebacks, legal claims, regulatory obligations, or security investigations.

10. What Happens After Deletion

Within approximately 30 days we begin deleting or anonymizing personal information that is no longer required.

Information that may remain includes:
- Financial transaction records
- Tax records - Fraud investigation records
- Audit logs
- Records required by courts or regulators

Anonymous statistical information may continue to be used to improve our platform because it no longer identifies you.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent where applicable, data portability, or lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

12. Marketing

You may opt out of promotional emails, SMS and push notifications at any time. Transactional communications relating to your account, rides, orders and security will continue where necessary.

13. Children's Privacy

Shride does not knowingly collect personal information from children who are not legally permitted to use our services without appropriate authorization.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through our app, website, email or other appropriate channels.
